The Central South Dakota Skating Club at The Expo Center for the Ice Extravaganza show (March, 2019)
Central SD Skating Club
The Central South Dakota Skating Club is an affiliated member club of the U.S. Figure Skating Association comprised of skaters ranging from all skill levels.
Since January, 2009, the Central South Dakota Skating Club has been using the ice rink on N. Lowell Avenue, behind Walmart, for figure skating practice. The Pierre Area Youth Skating Association, a non- profit group, was established to fund the rink allowing the rink to set aside time for public skating, ice curling and hockey.
Figure Skating Lessons
Learn the fundamentals of ice skating with lessons based on the curriculum designed by United States Figure Skating. Designed to teach basic skating skills, skaters advance as they master specific skating maneuvers. Skating is great exercise, teaches coordination, agility, balance and self-confidence. This program is offered through the Pierre Area Youth Skating Association and Central South Dakota Skating Club.
We offer lessons to skaters of all different experience levels. Enroll your skater here.
Impossible without you...
The Central South Dakota Skating Club is ran by volunteers who dedicate their time and effort into creating the best experiences for our members on the ice. Volunteers and parents are at the heart of the figure skating community and we wouldn’t be able to do it without their contributions.
Our club consists of a head coach, Samantha Witte, and many Junior Coaches who assist our young skaters into following their glides on the ice. Our officers and board members play an active role in the club and their skaters have grown with the club from young plows to competition figure skaters.
